About Sylvia

Sylvia Munoz Schnopp, MBA, Licensed Minister, College Professor, Political Leader, and Consultant, is a first-generation Latina born in the United States whose Mexican-born parents witnessed the Cristero Revolution, Mexico's 20th-Century religious civil war, as children.

Most recently, she served twelve years as Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilmember for the City of Port Hueneme, CA. Her leadership role and civic engagement was set in motion by several ancestors who attained judicial appointments and elected and appointed political offices in rural areas, cities, states, including the country of Mexico.

At 19 she first visited her grandfather's house in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico which left impressionable memories including a vision. Twenty-seven years later while conducting research for Abandoned Angels©, she realized this particular house was used as an underground church and hiding place for priests as well as a brave Cristero soldiers now featured in her book.
